Active and Passive Examples

its me again, zania. now, i will make a lot of example of active sentences that change into the passive ones.



  • Simple Present Tense
Active (A) : She sings the mellow song .beautifully
Passive(P) : The mellow song is sung by her beautifully.


  • Present Continuous Tense
(A) : Maya is preparing her dress for the party.

(P) : A dress is being prepared by Maya for the party.



  • Present Perfect Tense
(A) : Nancy has borrowed a fantasy book.
(P) :  A fantasy book has been borrowed by Nancy.



  • Present Perfect Continuous
(A) : Mr. Harry has been buying a new car for a week.

(P) :  A new car has been being bought by Mr. Harry for a week.



  • Simple Past Tense
(A) : They ate spaghetti at Italian Restaurant
(P) :  Spaghetti was eaten by them at Italian Restaurant.



  • Past Continuous Tense
(A) : I was studying biology before the test
(P) : Biology was being studied by me before the test.



  • Past Perfect Tense
(A) : I had already found my glasses in the bedroom.

(P) : My sunglasses had already found by me in the bedroom





  • Past Perfect Continuous Tense
(A) : Sophie had been paying the bill at the cashier.

(P) : The bill had been being paid by Sophie at the cashier.



  • Simple Future Tense
(A) : Mom will make a birthday cake

(P) : A birthday cake will be made by Mom



  • Future Continuous Tense
(A) : The baby will be biting the toys when we go.

(P) : The toys will be being bitten by the baby when we go



  • Future Perfect Tense
(A) : We will have talked about Beyonce by the time you arrive.
(P) : Beyonce will be have been talked by us by the time you arrive.



  • Future Perfect Continuous Tense
(A) : I have been opening an Opera Show
(P) : An Opera Show have been being opened by me.
